The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has officially flagged-off the construction of a Corpers Lodge in Umuaka Asa, Ukwa West, amidst widespread jubilation from the community.

The ceremony, which took place on Wednesday at Umuaka Community, drew a large crowd of enthusiastic attendees.

Chief Dr. Eruba Dimgba, the Abia State Representative on the Board of NDDC, addressed the gathering, expressing his appreciation for the commitments of the present Board, led by Dr. Samuel Ogbuku as the Managing Director and Barr. Chiedu Ebie as the Chairman.

He emphasized that the Board prioritizes the interests of the people, ensuring that their needs are met.
Dimgba seized the opportunity to stress the importance of protecting government property, urging the community to safeguard these assets. “Let’s protect government property, let’s not try to vandalize it,” he appealed. He also assured the community that they would be actively involved in the building work and encouraged them to cooperate with the contractor.

The contractor’s representative, Mrs. Lisa Achi, pledged to execute the project in accordance with the specified guidelines and timeline, while also seeking cooperation from the community.

This project is part of the NDDC’s broader efforts to promote development in the Niger Delta region.
With the commission’s renewed commitment to transparency and accountability, communities in Asa and entire Abia should expect to see more projects that address their needs and improve their quality of life.He concluded
