The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has expanded its development initiatives to Owaza Community with the launch of a Solar Street Light project.

The event, held at the Country Home of HRH Eze Obioma Nworgu, the Eze Oha 1 of Etiti Oha, marks a significant milestone in the community’s development.

Mr. Azubuike Nwubani, Director in charge of Abia State Office, praised the leadership of Chief Dr. Eruba Dimgba, Abia State Representative on the NDDC Board. He described Chief Dimgba as “a God-sent” to the people of Abia, assuring that communities yet to benefit from the Solar Street Light project will soon receive theirs.

Chief Dr. Eruba Dimgba emphasized that the current NDDC Board is proactive and committed to progress. “We are here to bring light and chase away darkness,” he said. “Owaza Community, as a major oil-producing community in Asa, deserves priority attention.” He urged the community to work in synergy with the contractors, highlighting the presence of two solar projects in Asa, with 229 units each.

The contractors, represented by Mr. Dickson Ayouwu of Hadasal Gold Ltd and Mr. Claude Estuwu, assured that they will execute the project effectively, adhering to the commission’s standards and upholding their integrity.

This development is part of the NDDC’s broader initiative to provide solar-powered street lights across the Niger Delta region.
